In the past few years, we have been living through History in the making. It has been dramatic, hard, surprising and worrying. But great crisis also brings great opportunity. We have a chance right now, to build a collective vision for Jersey. I don’t know what the future will hold yet, but I do know if we build a vision together as a community, we are far more likely to succeed.
Jersey Hospice Care is a specialist palliative nursing service which provides holistic care, free of charge, for patients with cancer and motor neurone disease. The work they do in Jersey is valued by the whole community.
I have run a leg of the Jersey Marathon every year since it began, and I think it;s a great event that involves and supports the whole community. I will be running again in 2011.
Terrence Higgins Trust was one of the first charities to be set up in response to the HIV epidemic and has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV.

I think everyone in Jersey has a special fondness for Durrell. The work they do there touches the lives of our own community and many others around the world.
